Our client is a Geneva-based niche Investment Fund focusing on blockchain based technologies. Having reached a substantial amount of assets under management, we are now looking for a:

Chief Operating Officer

The incumbent will report to the CEO and will be in charge of Administration & Finance. In addition, the incumbent will oversee the outsourced Risk and Compliance functions.

Job Description:

Operational:

  • Management of relationships with counterparties (Risk, Compliance, Auditors, Operations, Custodians, IT etc)
  • Selection and monitoring of counterparties
  • Reporting on the performance of counterparties
  • Oversight of outsourced accounting function
  • Cash management
  • Management of revenues, invoices and payments
  • P&L validation and reporting
  • Monitoring of shareholder capital
  • Communication with tax and social security services
  • Communication with the Board of Directors and Shareholders
  • Management of relationships with suppliers
  • Oversight of the management of salaries and social charges (outsourced)
  • Monitoring and control of the outsourced accounting activity
  • Management of the relationship with auditors

The incumbent will be a member of the Management Committee and will have the additional responsibilities:

  • Participation in the operational management of the Company in accordance with the applicable Articles of Association, regulations and internal guidelines
  • Participation in the implementation of the Company’s strategic business plan
  • Implementation of decisions taken by the Board of Directors
  • Implementation of the Compliance, Risk Management and Internal Control policies as defined by the Board of Directors,
  • Periodic information to the Board on risks and regulatory matters
  • Implementation of all internal directives
  • Representation of the Company vis-à-vis third parties: customers, counterparties and supervisory authorities
  • Hiring of employees, defining job descriptions
  • Supervision and evaluation of employees, termination of employment relationships
  • Active supervision of outsourced functions: Compliance, Risk Management, Accounting, IT, monitoring of the agents’ performance and reporting to the Board of Directors
  • Communication with supervisory authorities, as required, ensuring reporting duties are fulfilled

Requested Profile:

  • A relevant experience in an Asset Management company
  • Strong knowledge with Swiss regulators with experience in performing financial reporting to the FINMA
  • Sound knowledge of Operations, Compliance, Risk, Finance, HR
  • Monitor and execute day to day financial duties
  • Multi task and transverse skills
  • Hands on and hard worker
  • Willing to join a small but fast growing team
