Economist / Global Macro Strategist
Responsibilities
- Analysis of economic trends and developments and its impact on the various asset classes (equities, bonds, forex, commodities, but also hedge funds, private equity, private debt)
- Be a member of the Asset Allocation team.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Global Macro Strategist with whom she/he will form a team of two people.
- Improve the Asset Allocation investment process with specific quantitative or fundamental skills and experience.
- Contribute to the elaboration of the AA investment strategy and the formulation of the firm.
- Monitoring and processing of the firm network of research contributors economic and macro outlook publications.
- Pinpoint key economic trends and developments on a global scale.
- Prepare presentations for weekly Asset Allocation meetings and monthly Investment Committee meetings summarizing latest Global Macro developments.
- Follow-up of existing trades in the specific Asset Allocation portfolios and propose new trades.
- Contribution to the formulation of the firm view presented quarterly to the Investment Board.
- Contribute to the Asset Allocation investment process.
- Manage the specific Asset Allocation portfolios together the other team members, within predefined investment constraints.
- Production of monthly market comments, specific research papers and special update reports.
- Co-responsible for the respect of deadlines and the excellence in the quality of deliverables.
Key skills
- At least 5 years of experience in Economic / Global Macro analysis coupled, if possible, with experience in Portfolio Management.
- Passion for financial markets.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments (cash and derivatives).
- Strong fundamental and analytical skills to support asset allocation trades.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
- Excellent user of information and presentation systems/tools (such as Bloomberg, Excel, Power-Point, financial databases, production of in-house charts and dashboards).
- University degree or equivalent, CFA a plus.
- Analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently towards precise objectives.
- Discretion and low public profile.
