Our client is an Asset Manager looking for a:
Senior Risk Analyst
Responsibilities:
- Provide an independent analysis on portfolio managers’ profit and losses and positioning identifying the key drivers of performance in absolute and relative terms
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks for portfolio performance, providing actionable insights to portfolio managers and senior leadership
- Measure and monitor risk exposure across portfolios using statistical methods such as CVaR, factor analysis and stress testing
- Support portfolio managers’ specific analytics needs with ad-hoc analyses, tools, reports or dashboards, with a focus on liquid strategies
- Prepare recurring meetings with portfolio managers giving them insights on their performance and risk attribution as well as portfolio construction advice
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging tools/technologies in portfolio analytics and risk management.
Profile:
- 5-7 years of experience in performance analysis, risk management, or portfolio analytics, preferably within a hedge fund, asset management, or investment firm
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, generate insights and communicate them clearly
- Strong knowledge of investments and trading strategies with a passion for financial markets
- In-depth understanding of technical and financial quantitative practices within the investment management industry, namely around relative performance attribution and portfolio construction
- Expert use of data visualization software such as Tableau
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with programming software such as MATLAB or Python
- At ease with SQL queries or willing to learn
- Specific expertise in commodities or fixed income a plus
- University degree or equivalent in financial analysis and/or engineering
- Capable of working independently towards clearly defined objectives
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
- Willing to learn
- Excellent presentation skills, open communication and positive attitude contributing to creating a constructive team spirit
- Fluent in English and French
